The Fidelis Formula is a distinctly Christian response to today’s gym culture, which often places self and body at the center. As St. Ignatius of Loyola taught: “Remember that bodily exercise, when it is well ordered, is also prayer by means of which you can please God our Lord.” Physical training, diet, and prioritizing healthy habits are great actions in and of themselves, but when they replace our faith in christ as our main priority in life, that is when we start steering in the wrong direction. True growth happens when we reorder everything around Him, letting Christ nourish every part of our lives, body included.
In a culture that can often be nerve wracking to take part in and where insecurities take place, we want to create an inviting path for all those looking to start their fitness journey.
Sirach 30:14-16 – “Better the poor in vigorous health than the rich with bodily ills. I would rather have bodily health than any gold, and contentment of spirit than pearls. No riches are greater than a healthy body; and no happiness than a joyful heart.
“Fidelis” is Latin for Faithful. It is both a tribute to my Catholic faith as well as my dad’s 12 year year service in the Marine Corps.
Stay Fidelis.
